Faint Object Infrared Camera FORCAST
On 29-30 November 2010 NASA has carried out cooperation with DLR Deutsches Zentrum fur Luft-und Raumfahrt (Germany Aerospace Center) for the research program astronomical phenomena how stars and planets are born, the form of organic matter in interstellar space, and how the super massive black hole eating and grow. This research project is named Sofia (Observatory for Infrared Astronomy stratospheric) by using a special infrared camera to take pictures on a faint object space allows the research to find out the universe with pictures of objects that can not be done with the telescopes of the earth.

2. FORCAST Telescope image of the resolution
The research program Sofia airborne infrared telescope equipped with a 100-inch diameter that has the ability observation wavelength between 0.3 and 1,600 microns and analyze light from various celestial objects including warm interstellar gas and dust bright star forming regions.
